Key Features

  • With the “blade” of the brush, draw the outline of your lips along the lip line. Turn the brush as you do, following the line of your lips as you draw.
  • With a side to side motion, fill in all of your lips with a thin layer of lipstick.  At this step, you aren’t trying to build color.  Instead you are working a thin base layer into the skin.
  • With a downward motion, work the lipstick into all of the normal and natural crevices all lips have. At this stage, you might find that this little bit of lipstick is the perfect wash of color you were looking for.  If you want to build more color, simply repeat steps 2 and 3.
  • Blot, Reapply, Blot. This is an important but overlooked step.

Love It!

I love ALL of my Red Apple Lipsticks! I started out trying the samples that came with little brushes. I was very impressed with the way it went on with them. So with my first order of lipsticks I ordered this brush. I love it so much that I ordered the smaller one for my makeup bag in my purse. My lipstick looks great and I am able to get into the corners of my mouth with the brush without going outside of the lip line.

So Much Fun & Practical

I’d never used a lip brush before but have wanted to try one. This brush is a great shape for use on the lips. I followed the tutorial and it’s so much fun and easy to use! I also think I use less product, and on the days when I use a lip brush, my lipstick stays on a lot longer. It’s also really easy to mix lip colors using a brush- I do it right on my lips. Granted it does take a little longer using a brush, but the more professional look is incredibly worth it. As one other reviewer talked about, initially I found it impossible to get the brush out of its metal sleeve. I did eventually find that if I gently bent the sleeve back and forth (gently!) the brush finally did come loose. It’s gotten easier to get the brush out on subsequent uses. This is just such a blast to use; when it wears out, I plan on getting another one. Thanks so much, RAL!
