Pink Monochromatic Springtime Makeup Look
Learn how to do a soft and feminine pink monochromatic makeup look in this tutorial using Red Apple Lipstick products. This monochrome makeup look is perfect for springtime.
What Is Monochrome Makeup?
/wp:heading wp:paragraphIt is an interesting makeup trend where you use the same shade range on two or more places on your face - such as your eyes, lips, and cheeks. For this look, we will be using pink shades of eyeshadows, blush, and lipstick.

How Do You Do Monochromatic Eyeshadow?
/wp:heading wp:paragraph
Applying eye makeup before applying face makeup allows you to clean any eyeshadow fall out (little bits that get dusted onto your face under your eyes) without ruining the face makeup you've applied. However, you can do your face makeup before if that is what you prefer.
Step 1
/wp:heading wp:paragraphPrime the Eyelids -Start off by priming the lids using the Prime Time Eye Shadow Primer. Apply a tiny amount to the entire lid and let it dry for about a minute or two. If you have very oily lids, I suggest setting the primer with a bit of setting powder after you have let it dry.

Step 2
/wp:heading wp:paragraphBase Color- Next, you want to apply a base color on the lids. Choose a color that is close to the color of your complexion, it can even be a little lighter. I love to use Porcelain eyeshadow, it is the perfect shade for a base color. Apply your base shade on the entire lid, up to the brow bone, using an eye brush like the Vegan Wet/Dry Eye Brush.

Step 3
/wp:heading wp:paragraphTransition Shade -You now want to apply Pixie Dust eyeshadow as your transition shade. Using a brush like the Vegan Crease and Blend Brush, apply Pixie Dust to the area just above the crease (that folded area above the eyelid where a literal crease forms) and just below the brow bone. Blend out across the area using windshield-wiping motions to diffuse the color.

Step 4
/wp:heading wp:paragraphEn Pointe -Using the Vegan Wet/Dry Eye Brush, now apply En Pointe eyeshadow to the lids. You want to first pack it on the lids and then, with the Vegan Crease and Blend Brush, blend it into to crease. If you are left with any harsh edges, you can always take a little bit of the Pixie Dust shade to blend and smooth them out. This will also help your lid color to blend smoothly onto your transition shade.

Step 5
/wp:heading wp:paragraphHighlight -Apply Innocence eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eyes/teardrop area as well as on the brow bone. You can use the Vegan Wet/Dry Eye Brush to do so by applying with the tip of the brush.

Step 6
/wp:heading wp:paragraphLine the Eyes -Using the Vegan Angled Eye Brush, apply Black Magic eyeshadow to line the eyes. You can choose how much you want to wing it. If you prefer, you can also line the eyes using RAL Black Eyeliner Pencil instead.

Step 7
/wp:heading wp:paragraphMascara -To finish the monochromatic makeup look for eyes, apply anywhere from one to four coats of The Lash Project Mascara. If you want more natural-looking lashes, apply 1 to 2 coats. For a more dramatic lash look, apply 3 to 4 coats.

How Do You Do Monochromatic Face Makeup?
/wp:heading wp:paragraph*If you usually fill in your brows and you are doing your eye makeup first, I recommend doing your brows after you apply your base. You could get foundation on your brows while applying it so you want to do so before filling them in, this way you will prevent messing up your brows.
/wp:paragraph wp:paragraphWe suggest using an eyeshadow that is close to your hair color to fill them in using the Vegan Angled Eye Brush. Or you can also use an Eyeliner Pencil, Charcoal, and Cocoa to work well as brow pencils for some. Check out this post if you want to know how to fill in your eyebrows with eyeshadow - or to get recommendations on which eyeshadow is best for what hair color.

Step 8
/wp:heading wp:paragraphBronzer -After you apply your base (foundation/concealer and any setting powder), you now want to add some warmth and/or definition to the complexion. Apply Sundrop Bronzer using the Vegan Blush Brush, place it anywhere the sun would naturally hit your face and/or where ever you want to add definition, making sure to blend well

Step 9
/wp:heading wp:paragraphBlush -Now apply your blush, again using the Vegan Blush Brush. If you have fair to light skin tone, I recommend using Dolly blush. For those with medium to darker skin tones, M’Lady blush would work perfectly. (I used M’Lady blush.)

Step 10
/wp:heading wp:paragraphLips -Finish the monochrome look by applying your lip color. Prep your lips by applying just a bit of Rallye Balm before applying any lip color (massage it in well so it's not just sitting on top of your lips). For this look, I suggest using a pink lipstick like Audrey or Maven Mauve, these are the perfect soft pinks that will work with most skin tones and will look great with this pink look. If you wish to line the lips as well, Barely Pink, Dusty Rose, and Natural lip liners are great options. (I went with Maven Mauve lipstick without lip liner for this look.)
