Social and Eco Impact
We believe that our biggest impact to the ecology comes from the manufacturing of our products, while the social impacts and implications of our products give us an opportunity to spark positive change in our engaged community of amazing women.
As a company, we are consistently looking forward at and learning about the impacts of our actions, and others, have on the world we love so much.
As a major manufacturer and distributor of cosmetics, we understand the importance of crafting and supporting sustainable manufacturing techniques. A high level of planning and implementation goes into the manufacturing of all our components. We are committed to doing our part to use as many recycled materials as possible, make curb-side recyclable components for items that cannot be refilled, and long lasting eco-friendly materials for items that can be refilled.
We continue to look towards the future for more ways to significantly reduce our environmental impact in the 2020’s
Key Highlights
In 2021 we launched a new lipstick tube using the highest level of post consumer recycled plastics possible. We understand that our customers want to make sustainable choices, so we worked diligently to streamline our manufacturing processes to allow for the maximum usage of recycled materials.
In 2022 we are launching a new pencil made from highly sustainable materials. We worked directly with PEFC Forestry Group to make our new cosmetics pencils from sustainable woods. We further implemented a fully curb-side recyclable cap for our new pencils.
In 2015 we partnered directly with Z-Palette, a make of heavy duty cycle paper eye shadow palettes. We love the Z-palette for it’s reusability where the eye shadow holder easily continues working for a decade or more. We love that it’s made from recycled materials and uses little or no plastics. Z-Palettes are now made in the U.S.A. too, another thing we love about them.
In 2017 we initiated our Go Green/Ship Naked option. We removed thousands of paper invoices, boxes, and additional paper materials since we implemented this option. Looks for a check box at checkout to elect this option for yourself.
We request that our suppliers use only recyclable materials when shipping supplies to our warehouse and manufacturing facility. Within our office and distribution centers, we maintain an expanded recycling effort. We recycle 100% of all cardboard that enters our facilities, donating much of it to local gardeners who use the cardboard as bed underlayment. And, as a paperless office we use little to now paper, or toner in printers.
Giving back to our community is a vital step in doing the best we can do in the world. At Red Apple Lipstick, we are actively participating in improving the lives of others around us. Especially those women in need.
A core value is “Help Out”. This means we love to help you our customer, we help each other, and we care about the women in our world.
As a result, we give back a portion of sales to organizations that directly work with local communities and women in need.
Our mission is to enrich the health and well-being of those diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancers – for life – by funding and delivering integrative therapies.
Every woman needs to be reminded how strong and beautiful she is. Especially if she’s battling cancer.
